FALL AERATION & OVERSEEDING IMPORTANT CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Thank You So Much for allowing SecureTurf to perform your Fall Aeration & Over-Seeding!The next several weeks are CRITICAL to the establishment and survival of your new seedlings, and the rejuvenation of your current lawn. Please follow the guidelines below for best Charlotte Lawn Care and Landscaping results.
WATER, WATER, WATER!Moisture is required for seed germination. Please keep your new seeds moist. Once seed is established, water 1” per week. If your lawn dries out the new seedlings will die.Keep damp throughout the germination and new growth periods.
Refrain from mowing your lawn for 14-21 days if possible. The less traffic on the new seedlings, the better.Once the new grass has grown to a height of 4” you may resume mowing at the normal 3 ½ - 4” height for fescue.Keep traffic off your lawn or to a minimum during establishment.
Keep your lawn free of debris (leaves, clippings, etc).We recommend blowing leaves rather than raking to reduce the chance of damaging the new tender grass.
Not all seeds will germinate this fall. Many seeds will lay in the soil and remain dormant until spring. It takes 6-8 weeks for first germination seeds to mature. Your lawn will not flush to full lateral maturity until mid-April.
As the temperatures cool, your lawn’s top growth will slow. Do not be concerned about the false appearance of thin grass.During the winter months your lawn will be establishing its root system.
Please stay off of the lawn, unless you are cutting, especially if it is wet or frosted.
